Greenhouse Gas Emissions

PM Group's factories have recorded greenhouse gas emissions over the past three years, as outlined in the accompanying table. Currently, the group has not adopted ISO 14064-1 for greenhouse gas inventory. However, to ensure clarity in developing future carbon reduction strategies, we plan to implement ISO 14064-1 by 2025. Additionally, we will conduct carbon management training for key personnel in the participating departments. This initiative is aimed at advancing the company’s carbon management and net-zero emission goals, aligning with the expectations of government agencies and public organizations.

Solar Energy Initiatives

Since 2021, PM Group’s facility in Vietnam has increasingly focused on clean energy, carbon emissions, and carbon neutrality. The company has entered into contracts with various vendors and officially commenced construction of solar power facilities in 2022. The Vietnamese plant is in the process of installing 17,582 large solar panels, covering an area of 44,482 square meters. This impressive setup is projected to generate 9.852 megawatts of green electricity, which translates to a reduction of 250,000 tons of carbon emissions. This initiative contributes significantly to global carbon reduction efforts, showcasing our commitment to sustainable practices.

Through these measures, PM Group is not only taking significant steps toward reducing its carbon footprint but also setting an example in the industry for environmental responsibility.

PM Group has established water resource management based on the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. The management and reduction of water usage are conducted through methods that include water resource management, site risk analysis, goal setting, and continuous water-saving practices. The water used at PM Group facilities comes entirely from municipal sources, primarily for employee needs and equipment around the facility.

In terms of wastewater management, PM Group ensures that the quality of discharged water meets the requirements of local environmental authorities and does not impose a burden on the environment. A small amount of production wastewater is treated by the facility’s sewage treatment system, while some of the treated water is directed through designated sewer systems to larger wastewater treatment facilities.

PM Group has established a dedicated management unit to effectively monitor the sources and output of waste. Upholding the principles of minimizing waste generation and maximizing resource recovery and recycling, the company continuously promotes green design for products and waste management measures. The goal is to reduce waste produced during manufacturing and enhance the recycling and reuse of sustainable resources, achieving effective management and waste reduction.

To fulfill its responsibility in production, PM Group selects qualified suppliers with waste handling capabilities to ensure proper disposal. Audits are conducted either on-site or through customized forms to verify that the waste has been properly processed by the waste treatment operators, ensuring that the waste generated by PM Group does not significantly impact the surrounding environment.

In Taiwan, PM Group is currently planning to collaborate with plastic recycling companies. Through a glove product recycling program for plastics and rubber, the company aims to embody the spirit of ESG. Additionally, in the EU region, we have been cooperating with plastic recycling companies since 2022 in accordance with regulations and customer needs, and we have already met the requirements of the EU's Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations.
